Joseph Robson is an architectural illustrator. He studied architecture at Bath University before working at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Architecture (CASA) researching 3D modelling and virtual reality, culminating in the creation of the world's largest urban computer model. Whilst working at Bath University he taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In 1996 he completed an MPhil entitled 'Computer Investigations into Renaissance Art and Architecture', and has since published widely on the subject. Moving from Bath in 1998 Joseph became Head of Computer Graphics at Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners, where he worked on projects including the Eden Centre, the Minerva Building, Bath Spa and the Frankfurt Trade Fair Hall.
From Grimshaw's Joseph moved onto Hayes Davidson where he held the position of director. In 2006 Joseph established AVR London, specialising in architectural illustration, verified images for planning, and research, and since then he has worked with some of the world’s most respected architects, including Herzog & de Meuron, Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, and numerous Stirling Prize nominees.
